Low Testosterone On the Rise

Jim Harris the observer reports, was only 42 when he began to suffer from a disturbing set of symptoms. He was irritable, had no stamina and his sex drive had virtually disappeared. To boot, he was constantly fatigued, badly overweight and beset by anxiety and depression.

It came to light soon after, he'd been suffering from low testosterone, a hormone deficiency, that can turn the normally burly man, into an emasculated wimp.

Unfortunately this is an all too common problem in aging men. Which suggests men suffer from the same hormone deficiencies that plague women later in life just the same.

For decade’s woman have been engaging in hormone replacement therapies and treatments to help boost their lack of hormone. However scientists warn that with testosterone boosts in men, there may be adverse side effects.

One scientist argues that boosting testosterone could lead to prostate cancer, as well as increased risk of heart disease. However another argues "I think that testosterone therapy not only produces great improvements to patients' everyday lives but will probably prove to have long-term benefits in protecting against diseases like prostate cancer."

The thing they both agree on though, is that more long term studies are needed, to fully understand the implications of increasing testosterone.

Men suffering from low testosterone are overrun with ailments, from lack of sleep, to trouble maintaining a healthy erection, to osteoporosis, which causes the spine to crumble and reduces height.

Many of these symptoms are occurring more and more regularly in men below 40, when traditionally they've been the domain of men 10 years their senior.

Unfortunately for us men yet to reach that age, the trend seems apparent.

Testosterone levels are hard to measure and because of this doctors are less inclined to test for it. So the only methods to boost our levels are left to good old fashion exercise and cutting edge pharmaceutical companies.

Traditionally testosterone booster were synthesised in a lab, from all sorts of bizarre and strange chemicals, however now plant extracts and herbs are playing a bigger role, and natural more healthy supplements are available for those suffering from a lack of testosterone.
